Daniel A. Thompson is an employment law and business litigation attorney with jury trial and arbitration experience. His academic accolades include a Juris Doctor from Western Sierra Law School and an LL.M. in Public Law and Policy from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

As one of eight children born to a small business owner, Mr. Thompson understands the struggles of small and family-owned businesses. Growing up in Fallbrook, Mr. Thompson experienced first-hand the growth of business in Temecula and the surrounding areas. His familiarity with government and business is what inspired him to become a business lawyer.

In May 2020, Mr. Thompson published a book titled, Land of Liability: A Guide for California Employers. Relying on his many years of experience as a litigator, Land of Liability helps small business owners navigate through the landmines of California labor laws. The book should be essential reading for any California employer and can be purchased through Amazon as a paperback or eBook.

In July 2019, Mr. Thompson was named one of the “Top 100 Attorneys” in the area of employment law by the American Academy of Attorneys. As a Temecula employment lawyer, Mr. Thompson has an impressive track record of defending wrongful termination and discrimination lawsuits. Other areas of expertise include retaliation, harassment, unpaid wages and meal and rest period violations.

Mr. Thompson has gained a reputation as a proficient leader in the field of employment law. He remains up to date on current issues involving the employment relationship so he can advise his business clients about changes to the law.

In addition to litigation, Mr. Thompson offers a wide range of business services directed at ensuring that his business clients are compliant with state and federal law. These services include drafting employee handbooks and contracts, presenting employee trainings, participating in alternative dispute resolution and conducting workplace investigations.

During his legal career, Mr. Thompson has represented corporations, public entities and individuals throughout California, including Riverside, San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura and San Bernardino counties. Mr. Thompson has litigated cases in federal and state court and has found success in front of a jury.

Mr. Thompson is also an accomplished author and publisher. In 2013, he published “Peter Pomperfield and the Battle for Grandma’s House,” which was followed by two sequels, “Siege of Fair Oak Elementary” and “War for Camp Willalacky.” In addition, Mr. Thompson has republished many books that were seemingly lost to history, including two books written by his great grandfathers in the 1800s. He remains a dedicated author and plans to publish more books in the future.

He and his wife, Michelle, have been married over 13 years and have four children. Michelle is an elementary school teacher in the Temecula/Murrieta community. In his spare time, which is rare, Mr. Thompson enjoys sports, retro videogaming and playing guitar.
